Full of Christmas Cheer in Hamilton/Ancaster

‘Tis the Season for parades, bazaars and markets and silly sweaters as Santa Claus is coming to town! A quick look online finds 50+ “Things to Do This Christmas” in Hamilton including children’s events, carols, theatre and other holiday events. Clearly, the community loves their festive season celebrations where smiles decorate every face and all are welcome to join in the good cheer.

This year’s Hamilton Santa Claus Parade, scheduled for November 18th,circles downtown along a new route, the first parade route change in over 20 years so we hope the jolly old elf got the memo. The coming of Santa heralds the start of the festive season, guaranteed to delight kids (and secretly moms and dads too).

The CP Holiday Train arrives on Tuesday evening November 28th to raise money and food for local food banks. The train stops from 7:45 to 8:40 pm opposite Gage Park.

Handel’s Messiah is a must-see Christmas tradition on Monday, December 11th 7:30 – 10pm at St. Patrick’s RC Church, 440 King St. E. Featuring The National Academy Orchestra, Soprano Nathalie Paulin and The Arcady Singers.

The historic Ancaster Old Town Hall will ring with the sounds of The Big Sing, a concert and carol sing-along, on December 15th performed by Stara Vocal Ensemble.

These are only a small sampling of the festive enjoyment that awaits residents over the holiday season so the Grinch has no chance to spoil the fun in Hamilton.
